About the P About the P About the P About the P About the Policy Briefs olicy Briefs olicy Briefs olicy Briefs olicy Briefs This year the Crawford School of Economics and Government established an exciting series of Policy Briefs that provide three opinion pieces by researchers on a particular theme or topic. These briefs are designed to provide introductions into key public policy areas that are of importance to Australia and its neighbours in the Asia and Pacific. The aim is to stimulate discussion and expand the perspectives available to the policy community. Our first Policy Brief was on fishing futures. This brief is on the theme of corruption and anti-corruption—a timely topic given the recent headlines over the AWB payments in Iraq. It provides three perspectives: a diagnosis of the causes and cures for corruption, an economic analysis of corruption and the links between democracy and corruption.
